Delete your Church By Faith account

This page is for the Church By Faith app (Google Play and the App Store) and the Church By Faith website, operated by By Faith Apps LLC. You can delete your account yourself, at any time, without contacting us.

In the app

  1. Open Church By Faith and sign in.
  2. Go to Profile (the More tab) → Settings → Delete account.
  3. Review what will be deleted, then ask for a code. We email a six-digit code to your account’s address.
  4. Enter the code and confirm. Your account is deleted and you are signed out.

Without the app

Enter the email address of your account. If it belongs to an account, we send a confirmation link to that address. The link shows what will be deleted and lets you confirm. It expires in 60 minutes.

What is deleted

  • Your sign-in account, including every linked sign-in method (email, password, Google or Apple), and every active session on every device.
  • Your profile, photo, contact details and addresses, and your membership in every church on the platform.
  • Your prayer requests, journal entries, Bible highlights, notes and bookmarks, course and reading-plan progress, event RSVPs and attendance.
  • Your direct messages, and the posts, photos and videos you shared in groups (other members’ messages are not affected).
  • Your pastoral care appointments and their notes, and the church’s contact record for you.
  • Prayer requests and testimonies submitted on church websites with your account’s email address, including their photos.
  • Notification settings, push-notification devices and consent preferences.

What is kept, why, and for how long

  • Donation records (amount, date, church, payment reference, and the donor name and email given at checkout), no longer linked to any account, for 7 years: churches must keep them for accounting, tax receipts and fraud prevention. We never store card numbers; Stripe and PayPal keep their own records under their own policies.
  • Content you published for a church as a leader (sermons, announcements, courses, events) stays with the church, without a link to your account.
  • Security and audit logs stay without your name or account link.
  • A record that the deletion happened (dates, status and a one-way keyed hash of your email, never the address itself) for 12 months, so we can show the request was completed and handle duplicates.
  • Encrypted database backups are overwritten on a rolling basis within 30 days.

When it happens

  • Right after you confirm. It usually takes less than a minute.
  • If a payment service or storage does not respond, we retry automatically every 15 minutes until it is finished, and email you when it is done.

Monthly gifts and subscriptions

  • Any monthly gift you give through the app or a church website is cancelled with the payment service before your account is deleted, so there are no further charges. Past gifts are not refunded.
  • Church By Faith has no paid in-app subscriptions. A church’s platform subscription belongs to the church, not to your personal account.

When we need one more step

  • You are the only owner of a church: transfer ownership to another leader first (or ask us to close the church), so the congregation is not left without anyone who can manage it.
  • You are an affiliate partner with referral, commission or payout history: we must keep those financial records for tax reporting. Write to us and we will delete everything else.
