1. Visitor welcome and follow-up

Nobody who visits slips through the cracks.

The problem: A first-time guest fills in a card, it sits in a folder, and by the time somebody calls, the week has gone.

How it works in Church By Faith

  1. Invite a guest or a new member by email — one person, or up to a hundred addresses at once.
  2. A welcome automation sends your email and an app notification when someone is first recorded as a guest or a member, and tags them for follow-up.
  3. A visitor follow-up list shows who still needs a personal call, to leaders with permission to see it.
  4. Groups, private messages and prayer requests give a newcomer a next step once they are in.

Today people join your church by invitation; a public sign-up page for each church is not available yet. Automations start as drafts you review and switch on.

2. Church communications

The problem: Announcements live in a group chat, the email list is in someone’s personal account, and replies go to whoever saw them first.

How it works in Church By Faith

  1. Email campaigns to tags and segments — drafted, test-sent, approved and sent — with each person’s email consent recorded and respected.
  2. Announcements in the portal and the app, targeted, scheduled and set to expire.
  3. Automatic app notifications for what needs a response: a new prayer request for leaders, a pastor’s reply, a direct message.
  4. A shared team inbox for replies, with assignment, notes and templates in English and Spanish.

Texting and calls are one-to-one and need your church’s own Signal House number with US carrier (10DLC) registration and our approval. There is no bulk texting and no WhatsApp.

3. Pastoral care and booking

The problem: Prayer requests arrive by text, direct message and hallway conversation, and the one that mattered most is the one nobody wrote down.

  1. Members send prayer requests from the portal or the app; the leaders who handle them are notified, and nobody else sees them.
  2. A care queue where requests and follow-ups are assigned, worked and closed.
  3. Set up pastors, their weekly hours, blackout dates and appointment types, each with their own Zoom room.
  4. Live prayer rooms on Zoom, joined from inside the portal.

Online appointment booking is live on our founding ministry’s site. For other churches, pastors and hours can be set up now, but members cannot book through the portal or the app yet.

  2. Your church connects its own YouTube channel and Facebook page once.
  3. Broadcasts are recorded in the cloud and can be published to your sermon library.
  4. Sermons, an ad-free video library, playlists and courses with lessons and quizzes keep the teaching in one place.

  1. Publish your church’s giving methods — Zelle, check, cash, bank transfer — with instructions members see in the portal.
  2. A member records what they sent; your treasurer confirms it against the bank, and a confirmed gift cannot be quietly edited.
  3. Giving reports and a donor list for leaders with finance permission, with CSV export for your accountant.
  4. No payment processor is needed, so it works from your first day.

Card and monthly card giving through Stripe and PayPal are live for our founding ministry but not yet available to other churches, because per-church payment accounts are not built.

Most churches are running this with one volunteer, not an IT department. Here is what actually happens when you start:

    Make an account and name your church. You become its owner, and your roles, branding and feature switches are set up for you.

  2. Invite your leaders

    Send invitations by email. Each one is single-use and carries the role you chose, so nobody arrives with more authority than you gave them.

  3. Invite your people

    Invite members and guests by email, one at a time or up to a hundred at once. Each invitation carries the access you chose, and your welcome automations take it from there.

  4. Get set up, with help

Video storage and bandwidth are the only things here we pay for by the gigabyte, so they are the only ones with a meter. Past your plan’s allowance, storage is $0.10 per GB a month and bandwidth is $0.05 per GB. We show your usage in your admin area and tell you before you cross the line — nothing is cut off, and nobody gets a surprise.

Giving-provider processing fees are separate and set by that provider, not by us.

A Church By Faith app for your members

The member app for Android and iPhone is built and in final testing: prayer requests, messages, groups, announcements, the calendar, sermons, courses, the Bible and notifications. Until it is in the stores, everything works in the browser on any phone.

Why we built Church By Faith

We kept meeting churches held together by one volunteer who happened to know how to update a website, with everyone else waiting on them. Church By Faith exists so a pastor or a small team can run their church's digital ministry without a developer on staff, and without sermons, prayer requests and events scattered across five different tools. We are a small team, and we mean it personally when we say we are glad to help you get set up.

Questions churches ask

Who can see our congregation’s data?
Only your church. Every table is separated in the database itself, not by the application remembering to filter — so a page with a missing check returns nothing rather than somebody else’s records.
Can we control who joins?
Yes, and it is the default. Someone asking to join lands in a queue with no access to anything until one of your administrators approves them. You can also decline, and you can withdraw access from an existing member without removing them from your rolls.
Can you read our private messages or prayer journals?
No, and neither can your church owner. Direct messages are private to the two people in them and the journal is private to its author. Group conversations are different and deliberately so — an administrator can read those, because a group is a room with a roster rather than a letter between two people.
Can our members give by card?
Not yet for new churches. Card giving through Stripe and PayPal, including monthly gifts, is live today for our founding ministry, using hosted checkout so card details never touch our application. Other churches need their own payment accounts, and that onboarding is not built yet. Recording gifts sent by Zelle, check, cash or transfer needs no processor and works from your first day.
What about Spanish?
The whole application is in English and Spanish, and each person chooses their own. It is not a translated copy of the site; it is one application that speaks both.
Can we move away later?
Your data is yours. Ask and we will export it.
What is the difference between a church and a campus?
A church is its own independent subscription: its own data, its own admins, its own billing. A campus is a location under that same church, like a second building your congregation meets in — adding one never creates a second tenant, it stays inside the church you already have.
Are setup fees and my monthly plan billed together?
No. A one-time service like the Framework or the Full Launch Package is billed once, separately from your monthly subscription. Paying for a setup service does not include the monthly plan, and cancelling your subscription later does not refund a setup fee you already paid.
Does the platform price include card processing fees?
No. What Stripe, PayPal or another processor charges to move the money is between you and them, and is not part of what you pay us. Check their pricing directly before you connect one.
Is a domain name included?
Not unless a proposal says so explicitly. A domain usually carries its own registration and renewal cost from whoever you register it with, separate from anything you pay us.
Does the monthly plan include our public website?
No. The monthly plan is the platform and its administration — everything your team signs into and runs. A public website is built once by our team, quoted separately, and listed under website setup services above. We keep the two apart because building a site is real work done by a person, and a subscription price cannot honestly carry it.
When will the mobile app be available?
The app is built and in final testing. It will appear on Google Play and the App Store once each store has reviewed it; we do not put a date on a review we do not control. Until then the platform works in the browser on any phone.
What happens if we go over our storage or bandwidth?
Nothing stops working. Bandwidth is never cut off — we are not going to interrupt a service to protect a margin — and we bill the excess per gigabyte. Storage is the one place we do hold a line: a church that has used its whole allowance cannot start another upload until it upgrades or deletes something, because uploads are the one part we can refuse before the cost is incurred rather than after. Video files are also bigger on the host than on your computer: the host keeps several quality versions of every video, so a 300 MB sermon occupies about a gigabyte.
Can visitors sign up to our church on their own?
Not yet. Today your team invites people by email, one at a time or up to a hundred at once. A public page where visitors can ask to join each church is not available yet.
