Giving that reconciles, not just a donate button
Most of what a small church receives does not arrive by card. Church By Faith is built for both: the gift somebody sent by transfer and the gift somebody gives online.
Two ways to give
Recorded by hand, confirmed by a treasurer
A giver records what they sent by transfer, cash or cheque; a treasurer confirms it against the bank. This needs no payment processor and no credentials at all, so it works from your first day.
By card, through Stripe or PayPal
Live and taking real money, using hosted checkout so no card details ever touch our application. Card giving is enabled per church on request while we build multi-merchant onboarding — talk to us and we will switch it on for you.
What we do not do with your money
Gifts go from the giver to the processor to your church’s own bank account. The platform never receives a donation and never takes a percentage of one. Processor fees are between your church and the processor.
Honesty about what is not built
Recurring card giving is not built. Neither is Clover. We name both as absent inside the product rather than hiding them, because an untested payment integration is worse than one we have not written.
Frequently asked questions
- Do you take a percentage of our donations?
- No. Never. What Stripe or PayPal charges to move the money is theirs, and what you pay us is your subscription.
- Can somebody set up a monthly gift by card?
- Not yet — recurring card giving is not built, and we would rather say so than ship it untested. Recording a regular gift sent by transfer works today.
- Can a gift be corrected after the fact?
- A confirmed gift has no edit or delete for anyone, deliberately. A correction comes from a refund through the processor, which is what leaves a real record.
